WHAT IS CBD OIL?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is the second major cannabinoid found in cannabis plants like hemp and marijuana. Unlike the other major cannabinoid, THC, CBD is non-psychoactive. So, you won’t get “high.”
WHAT ARE TERPENES?
Terpenes are essential oils found in plants. There are around 200 terpenes in cannabis. They are what give cannabis its distinct aroma and flavor. Terpenes have beneficial effects and work synergistically with cannabinoids like CBD and THC. This relationship is called the entourage effect.
WHAT IS THE “ENTOURAGE EFFECT”?
The entourage effect is the synergistic relationship of the naturally occurring compounds found in cannabis plants. The cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids found in cannabis have shown to work better when they are taken together like in full spectrum as opposed to in isolation from each other.
HOW DOES CBD WORK?
All cannabinoids, including CBD, produce effects in the body by attaching to certain receptors.
The human body produces certain cannabinoids on its own. It also has two receptors for cannabinoids, called the CB1 receptors and CB2 receptors.
CB1 receptors are present throughout the body, but many are in the brain.
The CB1 receptors in the brain deal with coordination and movement, pain, emotions, and mood, thinking, appetite, and memories, and other functions. THC attaches to these receptors.
CB2 receptors are more common in the immune system. They affect inflammation and pain.
Researchers once believed that CBD attached to these CB2 receptors, but it now appears that CBD does not attach directly to either receptor.
Instead, it seems to direct the body to use more of its own cannabinoids.
IS IT LEGAL? WILL I NEED A “GREEN CARD?”
Yes, it is legal.
No, you don’t need a special card to purchase from us.
Our full spectrum products are within the legal limit of THC, <0.3%. We also carry a lot of products that contain zero THC.
WILL YOUR CBD MAKE ME HIGH?
No, you will not get high from our CBD. We extract our CBD from Hemp and not Marijuana. To fully understand why you won’t get high from CBD, you need to know that CBD oil can be made from both hemp and marijuana.
CBD is, in fact, totally legal when extracted from industrial hemp, which is the source of CBD for all our CBD supplements. When you choose CBD oil made from hemp, you will only get negligible levels of THC (<0.3%), because hemp is grown and used for its sturdy stalks and low levels of THC. So, no, you will not get high when consuming products made from industrial hemp.
WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF CBD?
CBD is not psychoactive in the way that THC is psychoactive and it will not get you high. However, CBD can have an effect on your mental state. Many users of CBD report feeling a very subtle feeling of relaxation, alertness, or mental clarity from CBD.
WILL I PASS MY DRUG TEST?
We carry full-spectrum, and isolate versions of CBD. There’s a 10% chance that you can fail a drug test on any full-spectrum oil.
If you are drug tested, we highly suggest you take isolate (just the CBD molecule in oil), because it will have zero THC.
Isolate is perfect for military, law enforcement, fire department, CDL drivers, and state/federal workers. We have 4 CBD Isolate Oil strengths; 500mg, 1200mg, 3000mg and 5000mg.
SHOULD I GET FULL-SPECTRUM CBD OIL OR CBD ISOLATE?
Full Spectrum generally refers to CBD oil products that not only contain CBD but also contain some terpenes and other cannabinoids such as CBG, CBN, and even some THC. Usually, these will be in ratios that were naturally occurring and extracted from the plant and specific strain. But they are also occasionally added back into products as an isolated form to raise the potency of the product.
With Full Spectrum CBD oil products, you have the advantage of something called the “Entourage Effect.” This is where all the cannabinoids and terpenes are working together in synergy, something that Isolate products will lack. Most people claim to receive better results from full spectrum vs CBD isolate, without the extra terpenes and cannabinoids. If you don’t get drug tested, we suggest going with the full-spectrum oil.
IS THE SOURCE AND EXTRACTION METHOD OF CBD IMPORTANT?
When purchasing CBD oil, you also want to make sure that you know from where it is sourced. We source all of our CBD from soil-rich hemp farms in Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, California, Kentucky, and Colorado. Also, the best CBD oil is extracted with a process called supercritical CO2 extraction which retains all of the naturally occurring beneficial molecules found in the hemp plant.
CAN YOU OVERDOSE ON CBD?
CBD has been shown to be safe to use in high doses. CBD will not cause a fatal overdose. However, it is possible to take too much CBD. A consequence of taking too much CBD is the increased chance of negative side effects like lethargy or drowsiness.
ARE DRUG INTERACTIONS POSSIBLE WITH CBD?
Yes. CBD is metabolized by a group of enzymes called the CYP450. These enzymes are responsible for metabolizing many commonly used drugs. CBD can inhibit the activity of the CYP450 enzymes. While CBD-drug interactions are more likely with high doses of CBD and CBD isolates, precaution must be taken when using CBD alongside life preserving medications for serious conditions (i.e. epilepsy medications). Please get authorization from your physician before taking CBD.
IS CBD LEGAL?
Currently, the legal status of CBD is not clear. CBD is legal to use in states which allow medical and recreational cannabis use. CBD is legal in states with allow for the use of hemp products. CBD and cannabis laws vary from state to state and it is up to you to know the exact laws for where you live.
WHAT IS THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM?
The endocannabinoid system is the collection of cannabinoid receptors, endocannabinoids, and enzymes involved in the production and break down of endocannabinoids. Endocannabinoids are naturally occurring cannabinoids found within our body. The two most studied endocannabinoids are anandamide and 2-AG. The two most studied cannabinoid receptors are CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are located mostly in the brain and CB2 receptors are located mostly throughout the immune system.
CAN I GIVE MY DOG/CAT CBD?
Yes. Pets can benefit from CBD for many of the same conditions as humans: pain, seizures, inflammation, and anxiety. CBD is safe to use for pets but their dosage will likely be much smaller than yours.
The anatomical locations of CB1 receptors in the brains of dogs differ from human brains, which is one of the reasons dogs are much more sensitive to the negative effects of THC than people. CB1 receptors are also found in the skin, salivary glands, digestive system, and immune system of dogs. This is why we suggest only using isolate CBD oils, without any traces of THC for your dog.
Our Relax CBD Dog oil is a human-grade formula, designed for dogs. Yes, we all tried the bacon flavor dog oil, it’s good. Yes, people use this formula for cats also.
We recommend you speak with a veterinarian (holistic veterinarian) before you start giving your pet CBD.
